CHERNIHIV WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

The wastewater treatment plant was designed and built more than 60 years ago. As a result, it uses inefficient, outdated equipment that cannot provide acceptable quality of wastewater treatment from nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, as the chemical composition of the wastewater has changed significantly since the plant was designed.

Reconstruction of the Podusivka water pumping station at Chernihivvodokanal

The water pumping station No. 2 ‘Podusivka’ was heavily damaged as a result of the Russian military actions. Prior to the full-scale invasion, WPS No. 2 supplied 34% of the total water consumption in Chernihiv, with a maximum capacity of 30,000 m3 per day.

This project involves two phases: the first will see the reconstruction of the water pumping station, and the second will see the construction of a water treatment plant. The reconstruction of WTP No. 2 will use modern energy-efficient technologies, including the construction of a solar power plant and the use of heat pumps. In addition, the use of the latest technologies and the construction of a water treatment plant will allow for the removal of excess iron and manganese.

Modernisation of the water supply system and water supply networks

Objective: Providing the population of the Apostolove community with quality drinking water through the reconstruction and modernisation of the community's water supply system.

After the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam was blown up, the community was left without drinking water supply, and the condition of the water supply networks and pump and filter stations deteriorated significantly.
The project to upgrade the water supply system and replace pipelines will primarily meet the need of residents for high-quality drinking water, which will be supplied centrally, without time limits and every day.

Water to the village

The purpose of this project is to replace the existing steel water supply system with a new one made of polyethylene pipes on the section from Zaporizhzhia to the site of the pumping station in Lukashevo village. The technical measures to be implemented under the project will stabilise the operation of the water supply system in this area.
The stable operation of the water supply system should ensure a steady supply of water to the community. Meeting the basic needs of the residents today means improving the quality of life, and a stable water supply in the community means developing the economic environment and the agricultural sector, which prevails in our region.

Improving the quality of water supply means developing the competitiveness and sustainability of our community in today's conditions.

Reconstruction of a part of the pumping station building for a drinking water bottling area at the Prishybsky water intake

Providing the residents of the Sumy community with safe drinking water in case of emergency in the war by purifying and packaging drinking water.

Packaging machines are required in case of water supply system failures, secondary contamination of water, natural disasters or other emergencies, as they guarantee a continuous supply of bacteriologically safe water. This possibility of safe water supply minimises the risk of poisoning people.

This technology will help save on transport costs, as the packages can be delivered by passenger cars rather than by special, fuel-consuming vehicles that are usually used to transport process water.
