Lithuania helps restore and improve energy efficiency of energy infrastructure in one of Ukraine's regions
The International Energy Cluster, which brings together Lithuanian and Ukrainian companies and research institutions, has presented proposals for the renovation of energy infrastructure in one of Ukraine's regions. The project's feature is the transfer of the network to the 20 kV voltage class based on the best European experience.
«The project is unique because it will allow us to modernise the power grids to European standards. This will help improve energy efficiency: increase the grid's capacity and reduce losses», said Viktor Bilko, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, at the cluster meeting.
Analysing the prepared proposals, Viktor Bilko also noted what this project shows: Ukraine is already working on reconstruction, not returning to old approaches, but introducing new, modern technologies and standards. «In all our decisions, we apply the principles of «build back better» and «energy efficiency first», creating our future today», he added.
The participants of the event got acquainted with the proposals developed by the International Energy Cluster and discussed ways to implement them.
The representative of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving also expressed gratitude to the Lithuanian partners for their active assistance despite the challenges of the war unleashed by russia.
«Lithuania is lending a shoulder to Ukraine in its struggle on the energy front. Your work has inspired us to deepen our partnership. Therefore, over the past month, we have managed to sign memoranda of cooperation with the Lithuanian Energy Agency. The horizon of cooperation is very wide: bioenergy, high-efficiency cogeneration, energy efficiency», he said.
