Restoration of the building of the Municipal Non-Commercial Enterprise “City Polyclinic No. 10”

The facility building is located in the most affected district of Kharkiv. The polyclinic has been repeatedly shelled and suffered significant damage. Main objective: restoration of the facility to improve healthcare service delivery and convenience for residents of Pivnichna Saltivka.

Objective:
Improve conditions for enhancing national urban development policies, addressing specific issues related to implementation of national policies for city development and recovery

Project Status:
Ongoing work in Kharkiv includes the development of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan

Extension of the Third Metro Line

Objective:
Improve passenger transportation infrastructure

Project Status:
Implementation phase – preparing documentation for selecting contractors for the construction of the metro depot and procurement of metro trains

Construction of a New Solid Waste Processing Complex in Derhachi, Kharkiv Region

Partners (Loan Funding): International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)
Objective:
Implement separate collection of solid waste, its subsequent sorting, and establish a system for landfill gas collection and utilization to generate electricity

Project Status:
Implementation phase – construction of the solid waste processing complex and remediation of damage from Russian military aggression is ongoing

First Underground School

Partners: Funded and equipped by the local budget, USAID, DG East, UNHCR, and other international organizations

Objective:
Transform underground space into a safe learning environment during wartime. The school has played a key role in restoring in-person education and serves as an example of rapid adaptability and inclusive accessibility under extreme conditions

Project Status:
Construction completed in early 2024. In May, 230–300 students attended classes, reaching up to 600; from September, up to 900 students in two shifts. The school was established in response to ongoing attacks to ensure safe in-person education for children during the war
