The Unbroken Rehabilitation Ecosystem
Unbroken is a unique ecosystem of humanity that unites dozens of projects implemented with the support of partners and investors, and aimed at the treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainians affected by the consequences of the war.
The project includes treatment, prosthetics, physical and psychological rehabilitation, housing and reintegration of Ukrainians. Prostheses are manufactured and installed here.
Since February 24, 2022, Unbroken has saved more than 15,000 victims, including 2,000 children.
The center of the UNBROKEN ecosystem is the National Rehabilitation Center, where servicemen and civilians receive comprehensive medical care. The center operates on the basis of the First Medical Association of Lviv - the largest medical institution of Ukraine, which includes two adult hospitals and one children's hospital.
The mission of the project is to rescue, prosthetics and rehabilitate Ukrainians in Ukraine
Social infrastructure (healthcare) facilities
Building a surgical facility in the Unbroken rehabilitation ecosystem
The project involves the construction of a new surgical building to meet the growing demand for emergency surgery related to war injuries.
Over 15,000 patients were rehabilitated at the Unbroken Rehab Center during the full-scale invasion. First of all, these are surgical operations associated with mine-explosive and burn injuries, as well as extremely complex organ transplant operations. The Unbroken medical ecosystem is rapidly developing and needs new medical facilities with beds. Today, more than 3,500 patients are receiving inpatient treatment, and if necessary, more than 1,000 more. The solution to this problem is the construction of a new surgical building with 230 beds and an area of more than 20,000 square meters.
Social infrastructure (healthcare) facilities
Building a Center for Seniors in the Unbroken Rehabilitation Ecosystem
The project envisages the construction of a Center for the elderly in connection with the growing demand for such facilities, including due to the large number of IDPs in Lviv.
On the territory of Lviv, there is only one institution of this type, in which 292 people of retirement age live, 45 of them are IDPs. The queue exceeds 20 people per seat. In this regard, it was decided to build a modern Center for the elderly in the northern part of the city, applying the experience of the Cannes (France) project. 350 beds will be created in the first phase of the Center. The total area of the center will exceed 20,000 square meters.
Social infrastructure (healthcare) facilities
Construction of a tram track to the Unbroken Rehabilitation Center
The project involves improving transport accessibility to the Unbroken National Rehabilitation Center through the reconstruction of the street. Mykolaychuk. The reconstruction involves the construction of a tram line, lanes for public transport and emergency services, bicycle infrastructure.
Mikolajchuk Street is one of the central thoroughfares of the northern district of Lviv, which on the one hand connects it with the city center, and on the other - is an exit to the network of external highways of state importance.
The project is a component of the rehabilitation ecosystem Unbroken, and is aimed at improving the transport connection of the ecosystem with the city center.

Construction of an underground parking lot in the central part of Lviv
The goal of the project is to create new parking spaces in the central part of Lviv (E. Petrushevich Square) to solve the city's extremely acute parking problem.
The project will be implemented within the city square and involves its reconstruction. The project provides for the construction of a parking lot in one underground level, with a capacity of 100 parking spaces, of which up to 20 parking spaces will be equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles. The parking lot will additionally function as an underground shelter (bomb shelter).
A public-private partnership, namely a concession (DBFOM), is proposed as the project implementation model. The investor builds and manages an underground parking lot, and returns the investment by providing parking and charging services for electric vehicles. The term of the concession is 30 years.
Project status: preparation for the concession tender.

Take care of the house
The project envisages the restoration of residential buildings that were damaged as a result of the massive rocket attack on the city of Lviv on September 4, 2024. As a result of this shelling, 7 people were killed, and more than 60 were injured. Also, 189 buildings were damaged, 19 of them architectural monuments. 20 buildings suffered significant damage, and unfortunately, some of them cannot be restored.
In order to restore the 20 most destroyed buildings, the Lviv City Council launched the initiative "Take a house under guardianship". As part of the initiative, benefactors can take care and restore one of the houses or partially finance one of the types of work. More than 30 Ukrainian and international companies will already participate in the initiative, however, due to significant destruction, some buildings still require significant funds for restoration.
Social infrastructure facilities (education, culture and sports)
Construction of a crematorium in Lviv
The project envisages the construction of a crematorium to solve the problem of a constant shortage of free land in the city of Lviv for burials.
This will be not only the first crematorium in the city of Lviv, but also in the west of Ukraine. The nearest crematoria are in Kyiv and Odesa.
The project includes the construction of a crematorium and columbarium, arrangement of a recreation area and parking lot, engineering support of the territory.
For the implementation of the project, a land plot has been formed, design and estimate documentation has been developed, and building permit documents have been obtained.
Governance and provision of essential public (administrative) services
Installation of a heat pump with a capacity of 15 MW at the discharge of sewage treatment facilities
The project envisages the installation of a heat pump with a capacity of 15 MW of heat at the discharge of sewage treatment facilities, to include the received heat in the centralized heating system.
The development of centralized heat supply is a priority of the city of Lviv. The use of heat pumps is one of the most relevant areas of development of heat generation in the context of decarbonization, electrification and the development of RES.
Sewage always has heat, which is now completely lost.
The heat pump at the sewage treatment facilities of Lviv will allow generating heat energy from the sewage to heat the homes of more than 50,000 residents of the northern part of the city. The efficiency for this type of pump reaches 3.5.
Energy supply facilities
Modernization of sewage treatment facilities in the city of Lviv
Sewage treatment facilities of Lviv receive 350,000 m3 of sewage per day. In the human equivalent, pollution is 2 million and consumes about 80 MW*hours of electricity per day.
The project envisages the modernization of sewage treatment facilities by installing new sandblasters, replacing blowers and repairing some of the outdated equipment and structures. This will make it possible to urgently reduce the amount of nutrients in the discharge by 50%, as well as reduce electricity consumption by 30%.
Water supply and sewerage
Construction of 20 MW of solar generation within the Lviv Energy Hub
The project envisages the creation of a sustainable power and heat generation center to provide critical infrastructure for the use of renewable energy sources.
The construction of a 20 MW gas-piston cogeneration plant for the production of electricity and heat, based on four Norwegian cogeneration plants, is in progress. This technology provides for the possibility of combining cogeneration plants with solar, wind and hydropower plants.
Within the framework of this project, the implementation of the second component is envisaged: the construction of SPP capacities with an inverter and electric energy storage. The capacity of the SES installation is 20 MW.
Energy supply facilities
Construction of a combined steam and gas plant with a capacity of 100 MW
The project envisages the installation of a combined steam-gas plant with a capacity of 100 MW at the city's thermal power plant with maximum use of waste heat, which will satisfy up to half of the current demand for electricity in the city of Lviv and receive up to 70% of heat from cogeneration.
