The process of intensifying twinning relations with the cities of: Kent (Washington State, USA) and Zonguldak (Republic of Turkey) has also been started; partnerships - with the cities of Tucson (Arizona, USA), Klaipėda (Republic of Lithuania) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania).

It has the highest indicators for the development of renewable energy, several years before the full-scale invasion, solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of more than 500 MW were built.
Agro-industrial complex
The export of agricultural products before the full-scale invasion amounted to more than 2.5 million tons. Due to the extensive irrigation system, the region was a leader in the cultivation of industrial crops, rice and fruit and vegetable group.
