Strong tourist potential
Makariv Community, due to its geographical location, is attractive to tourists: 40 km from the capital of Ukraine, is located along the Kyiv-Zhytomyr international highway and offers a lot of local tourist sites and opportunities. The tourism development in Makariv Community means not just additional budget revenues, but also revealing the full potential of the Community, as it has so many unique places:
20 villages of the community were under occupation, 32 were under regular enemy shelling. For 34 days, the residents of the Community fought the enemy and bravely defended the capital. However, this struggle left a lot of destruction... civilians without houses.
