Ukraine and Finland Join Forces for Critical Minerals Mining: Strategic Memorandum Signed

At URC-2026 in Gdańsk, the foundation was laid for large-scale industrial cooperation. The Ukrainian investment company BGV Group Management, the leading Finnish technology giant Metso, and Finland's state-owned export credit agency Finnvera signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at developing projects for the mining and processing of critical minerals in Ukraine.

Oleksandr Naumyk, Chairman of the Board of Directors at BGV Group Management, emphasized that the partnership goes beyond mere extraction:

"European markets are looking for reliable sources of critical raw materials, and Ukraine is capable of becoming one of the key partners in securing them. In particular, our group of companies alone holds six special subsoil use permits for critical minerals and is actively developing relevant projects that could potentially make Ukraine a leading supplier in specific sectors. At the same time, the true value lies not only in the resources themselves, but in establishing modern production facilities and building new industrial chains. This is precisely what our cooperation with Metso and Finnvera aims to achieve."

In addition to technological and expert assistance, the memorandum provides for exploring financing mechanisms to implement promising projects. This strategic decision marks another step forward in strengthening Ukraine's economic resilience, following the expansion of cooperation initiated earlier at the same URC-2026 conference with the EBRD to develop the BGV Graphite project.

The partnership brings together BGV Group Management's expertise in exploration and mining, Metso's cutting-edge technological solutions for the mining industry, and Finnvera's financial instruments, setting the stage for the creation of new industrial chains in Ukraine.

Україна та Фінляндія об’єднують зусилля для видобутку критичних мінералів: підписано стратегічний меморандум.

На URC-2026 у Ґданську було закладено фундамент для масштабної індустріальної співпраці. Українська інвестиційна компанія BGV Group Management, провідний фінський технологічний гігант Metso та державна експортно-кредитна агенція Фінляндії Finnvera підписали Меморандум про співпрацю, спрямований на розвиток проєктів із видобутку та переробки критично важливих мінералів в Україні.

Голова Ради директорів BGV Group Management Олександр Наумик підкреслив, що партнерство виходить за межі простого видобутку:

«Європейські ринки шукають надійні джерела критичної сировини, а Україна здатна стати одним із ключових партнерів у їх забезпеченні. Зокрема, лише наша група компаній володіє шістьома спецдозволами на користування надрами щодо критичних мінералів та активно розвиває відповідні проєкти, які потенційно можуть вивести Україну в лідери постачання за окремими напрямами. Водночас справжня цінність полягає не лише в ресурсах, а у створенні сучасних виробництв і нових промислових ланцюгів. Саме на це спрямована наша співпраця з Metso та Finnvera».

Окрім технологічної та експертної допомоги, меморандум передбачає пошук механізмів фінансування для реалізації перспективних проєктів. Це стратегічне рішення стало ще одним кроком у зміцненні економічної стійкості України, яка раніше на полях тієї ж конференції URC 2026 розпочала розширення співпраці з ЄБРР щодо розвитку графітового проєкту BGV Graphite.

Партнерство об’єднує досвід BGV Group Management у розвідці та видобутку, технологічні рішення Metso для гірничодобувної промисловості та фінансовий інструментарій Finnvera, створюючи умови для створення нових промислових ланцюгів в Україні.
