Involvement of European business in the "green" renewal of Ukrainian energy will strengthen Europe's energy security - Yaroslav Demchenkov
Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Yaroslav Demchenkov met with Vladimir Dlouhy, President of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry EUROCHAMBRES, Ben Joseph Butters, CEO of EUROCAMBRES, and representatives of international Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
According to Yaroslav Demchenkov, Ukraine's energy sector and critical energy infrastructure have suffered significant damage as a result of targeted hostile attacks. At the same time, the war has opened up opportunities not only for the restoration but also for the modernisation of the energy sector, Yaroslav Demchenkov said during the meeting.
«As the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko has repeatedly noted, the state aims to implement a green recovery of the energy sector using the most modern energy-efficient technologies through the development of renewable energy sources, hydrogen and biotechnology. The participation of European businesses in relevant projects will help achieve global climate goals and strengthen the continent's energy security», he said.
The Deputy Minister emphasised that Ukraine is open to cooperation with the private sector in developing effective regulatory policy mechanisms and creating transparent market rules that will allow businesses to actively participate in the energy transition and green transformation.
The meeting also focused on the integration of the Ukrainian and European energy markets. Yaroslav Demchenkov informed the representatives of international Chambers of Commerce and Industry about the adoption of a regulatory framework that brings Ukrainian energy legislation in line with European standards.
