Borodianka is being rebuilt together with partners from Finland

✔ In November 2023, a delegation led by Iryna Zakharchenko (acting head of Borodianka Settlement Council) visited ReBuild Ukraine, where they got acquainted with the technologies of the Finnish company Honka. Later — a visit to Finland: a school in Karstula, Honkarakenne production, new ideas, and inspiration.

💬 “We were amazed: children walk around the school without shoes, the air is fresh, and classrooms are comfortable in any weather. We want to create the same atmosphere for Ukrainian children,” — says Honka Ukraine director, Yevhen Kolovorotnyi.

☝ In May 2024, Borodianka and Karstula signed a twinning memorandum, and in September, the Finnish side handed over the project for the gymnasium’s reconstruction.

Funding is provided by the Finnish-Ukrainian Investment Fund (FUIF) together with Honka and Finnish experts.

💬 “The project is actively supported by the community and the Kyiv Regional State Administration. From our side, we will make every effort to live up to this trust,” — adds Yevhen Kolovorotnyi.

The new gymnasium, built following the Finnish school model, will accommodate 400 students and include a boarding facility for 120 children.

This is an example of how international partnership turns the dream of a rebuilt Borodianka into reality ☝ 

By the way, this year, the Borodianka community will also participate as a visiting community at the National Pavilion “UKRAINE AND ITS COMMUNITIES” as part of ReBuild Ukraine.

Бородянка відбудовується разом із партнерами з Фінляндії

✔ У листопаді 2023 року делегація на чолі з Іриною Захарченко (в.о. голови Бородянської селищної ради) відвідала ReBuild Ukraine, де познайомилась із технологіями фінської компанії Honka. Згодом — візит до Фінляндії: школа в Карстулі, виробництво Honkarakenne, нові ідеї та натхнення.

💬 “Ми були вражені: діти ходять по школі без взуття, повітря свіже, а в класах комфортно за будь-якої погоди. Ми теж хочемо створити таку атмосферу для українських дітей,” — каже директор Honka Ukraine, Євген Коловоротний.

☝ У травні 2024 року Бородянка та Карстула підписали меморандум про побратимство, а у вересні фінська сторона передала проєкт відновлення гімназії.

Фінансування забезпечує Фінсько-український інвестиційний фонд (ФУІФ) спільно з Honka та фінськими експертами.

💬 “Проєкт активно підтримує громада та Київська ОДА. Зі свого боку ми прикладемо максимум зусиль, щоб виправдати цю довіру,” — додає Євген Коловоротний.

Нова гімназія, збудована за зразком фінської школи, розрахована на 400 учнів і матиме пансіонат на 120 дітей.

Це приклад, як міжнародне партнерство перетворює мрію про відновлену Бородянку на реальність☝ 

До речі, у цьому році Бородянська громада буде також громадою-відвідувачем на Національному павільйоні «УКРАЇНА ТА ЇЇ ГРОМАДИ» в рамках ReBuild Ukraine.
